Honeysuckle

F
allopian flower -

My lips lay voiceless against your skin;

that I am dared to stir an ember of summer
Then so is their brush soft as I sip the nectar golden

from your trumpets slender chalice

Were ever there a grail
-
As holy

Deeply

How is a well that still waters run
Are thoughts that dwell ‘neath a setting sun
As an ocean is blue or a river profound
Is a summer night’s hue of its starry resound
As do nightingale’s song and morning dove’s glee
Herald loves regale of hearts symphony

Then so is mine a well deep and true

Of the love that it holds as it is
- For you

Mistress

Seductress of solace -
That not is my comfort
in the compassion
of our companionship
As I would lay the weight of my heart
‘pon your shoulder.
But in the deep knowledge of the promise

That you will never say -

“I love you.”
